Course Description
This course is an updated introduction to the steel deck construction, using the Steel Deck Institute Manual of Construction with Steel Deck, 3rd Edition (MOC3) as a reference. The Manual is intended to be an aide and general guide for the safe and proper erection of steel deck. The Manual is not intended to define specific duties or responsibilities of any of the participants involved in doing the work, however, each participant in the process (the design professional, the deck manufacturer, the general contractor, the deck erector, and the owner) should be aware of their individual responsibilities. By studying this Manual, you will be introduced to installation procedures that affect the design and installation of the steel deck.
The Steel Deck Institute Manual of Construction with Steel Deck, 3rd Edition (MOC3) is available for free downloading from the SDI website, and is also included with this course.
