Taking an Online Course

Our courses do not have an expiration date. You can take as long as you like to complete a course you have purchased. It should be noted that the date which will appear on your certificate of completion is not your purchase date. The date on your certificate will be the date you took the course quiz on.

  1. Create New Account: Register with our website by clicking on the "Create new account" link (found in the lower left hand corner) or log into your account if you already have one. Note: You can pay for the courses either before or after you complete the quizes.

  2. Download Course Materials: Navigate to the course description page of your choosing. On the right hand side of each course description page is a download button that you can use to download the course materials to your computer. Read the course materials.

  3. Take Quiz: Log into your account. Then click on the quiz button on the right hand side of the course description page to take the quiz. Take the quiz as many times as necessary in order to pass with a 70% or better. You may start the quiz, stop, and then return to the quiz at a later time to finish.

  4. Pay for Course: When you pass the quiz a green checkout link will be provided for course payment via credit card processing thru PayPal's secure servers. You can also buy multiple courses at the same time by adding various courses to your cart and then paying for them.

  5. View Certificate of Completion: To view your certificates of completion or to review your course history click on "My account" followed by clicking on the "Courses Taken" tab. You must be logged in first to review your course history. Certificates of completion will only become available after passing the course's quiz and paying for the course.

Upon passing the quiz, you will be prompted to pay for the course.  Once payment is made, you may obtain your certificate of completion by clicking on "My Account" and then clicking on the."Courses Taken-Certificates" tab.

The only time you need to submit your “Certificate of Completion” to your State Licensing Board is when:

  • You are required to do so as part of the license renewal process or
  • You are being audited
  • For Florida Engineers the only course that you need to submit a certificate of completion for is the "Advanced Florida Building Code" course. To report this course, email your certificate of completion to wanderson@fbpe.org. The state of Florida now requires providers to report the "Florida Laws and Rules" course to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. We will send in reports every Friday. Florida also requires self reporting into the NCEES CPC tracking system. Go to www.fbpe.org for more information.

As an approved sponsor, PDHLibrary.com is required to maintain your course activity records for a specific period of time in the States of Florida and North Carolina. However, you are ultimately responsible for tracking and maintaining all your course activity records for the remaining states. To aid you in record keeping, PDHLibrary.com saves your certificates for your convenience under the "Courses Taken" tab in the "My Account"  area.

In addition, it is the policy of PDHLibrary.com.com to maintain your records for a 10-year period which exceeds the requirements of any State Licensing Board.

PDHLibrary.com will use your personal information internally as follows:

  • to generate and submit your “Certificate of Completion” online each time you pass a course quiz.
  • to provide your state engineering licensing board with pertinent information (as required by certain states).
  • to notify you periodically of new courses or specific course discounts being offered (optional).

As a proof of completing your course, PDHLibrary.com will provide you with a “Certificate of Completion”.

This certificate is available at any time simply by clicking "My Account - Courses Taken".

Your browser is probably set to NOT print background images. Simply click "file", then click on "page setup". Then check the box for "print background images". Your certificate should now print the signature correctly.

Alternatively click on the "PDF Version" to create a PDF file of your certificate of completion which can then be saved to your computer. This version of the certificate will always print out the signature.

We only report when the state has made this a requirement. The only state requiring reporting is the State of Florida and it is only for the "Florida Laws and Rules" course.

Make sure to save pdf copies of your certificates of completion to your computer so that you can simply email them in the event that you are audited by a state you are licensed in.p>
